Mendoza is a unique place. It is classified as a semi-desert area. There are almost no rains, but, at the same time, there is a lot of water. Mendoza is located on the eastern side of the Andes, and the water comes from the mountains by an irrigation system devised by the Huapes (first inhabitants). The dry climate with melted snow gives to Mendoza the perfect environment to grow grapes, specially the Malbec, and to produce one of the best wines in the world.
